What I do

I make small wall-mounted plaques for indoors, and larger plaques for outside. I've sold my plaques in a number of different outlets for example in the National Museum in Edinburgh, and Kilmartin House Museum.

I have undertaken many commissions for Memorials, both for public figures and for private individuals. I am careful to ensure that each Memorial is exactly as the client wishes, and have created Memorials which are very varied, from the traditional headstone, to a granite boulder placed in the hills- to a tiny alabaster mouse.

Lettercutting is a task I enjoy, and I have been doing this for 15 years.

I have undertaken stone conservation work on a number of prestigious buildings, such as St Giles' Cathedral and the National Gallery  Edinburgh,  and Stobo Kirk, Peeblesshire

I've been running classes and workshops in carving and lettercutting for many years. Predominantly this is in the Lothians and Fife. At present I do this on a regular basis at the Scottish Lime Centre Trust. I enjoy working with people and teaching them how to carve stone and wood.

I've done interactive workshops for all the family at various museums throughout Scotland- Kilmartin House Museum, the Crannog Centre Kenmore, Pictavia Brechin.

I have been commissioned to make a number of replica tools for museums, from prehistoric tools like axeheads to rotary querns.

I've exhibited my work in shops, galleries and museums throughout Scotland.

I've had commissions from many different Agencies since 1999. I've worked on a number of different Sculpture Trails-

My work can be seen at Carie Walks, Faskally, Perthshire; River Ericht, Blairgowrie, Big Tree festival Perthshire, Weem Wood Sculpture Trail,  the Birks of Aberfeldy, Waymarkers at Corstorphine Hill, Edinburgh, and Queens View Perthshire- to name some.

Other commissions include the Soldier's Leap at Killiecrankie Pass, The Blue Seaway at Monifieth, the Seashells at Carnoustie, The Giant's Head at Hailes Park in Edinburgh.

I enjoy involving the local community and in many commissions I have had local peoples help and participation- for example in Craigmillar Park and Burdiehouse Park Edinburgh

I've been commissioned to do many private sculptures for both inside and outside the home.
